Know your monthly cost before you tour
Try a purchase price, down payment, rate and amortization. Then add your condo fee for the real cost of ownership.
Monthly payment
$0
- Mortgage amount
- Mortgage default insurance (est.)
- Total interest over amortization
- Monthly cost incl. condo fees
Estimates only. Uses Canadian semi-annual compounding and an approximate default-insurance premium for down payments under 20%. Budget separately for closing costs such as legal fees, title insurance, an inspection and any provincial land transfer tax or registration fees. Actual rates, premiums and payments are set by your lender; speak with a mortgage professional before making decisions.
Beyond the mortgage payment
Your lender will look at the mortgage, property taxes, heat and half of your condo fee when they work out what you qualify for. Here is what I suggest you budget for as an owner.

- Property taxes, which the City of Calgary bills each year
- Contents and liability insurance for your suite
- Electricity and internet if they are not in the fee
